Our largest educational ministry at St. Mary's Parish is St. Mary's Catholic School, serving children from 6 weeks of age all the way through 8th grade. Our school is dedicated to meeting the spiritual, intellectual, physical and emotional needs of our children. More than a school, we help them grow, together, as a family of faith.
Our OCIA program provides religious instruction for adults wishing to learn more about the Catholic Church and/or to be accepted into the Church as new members at Easter. All are welcome!
The combined programs of catechesis at St. Mary and St. Joan of Arc parishes meet on Sundays at 10:30AM in the St. Mary's School building.
The fee is 25.00 per family and covers the textbook and all learning materials. If the cost is beyond your means, do not let it stop you from registering your child.

Want to better know your faith? The best way is to teach it to others! And, we have a real need in our CCD program. Don’t let fear hold you back if you have it in your heart to teach CCD. You can be paired with an experienced Catechist for your first year. Your love of Christ is the only requirement and the rewards are bountiful. The harvest is plenty, the laborers are few. Can we count on you? Please email Jessica Martin. with inquiries: jmartin@stmarymobile.org.
We are excited about the many volunteer teachers and teaching assistants who have been hard at work to make this a truly rewarding experience.
Contact Jessica Martin at jmartin@stmarymobile.org any time for further information or to register your youth.
Youth Group meets on Sunday afternoons 12:30–2:30PM in the St. Mary Youth Building at 111 N. Lafayette Street.
We start by playing a game and eating pizza together. At 1:30, the girls and boys separate for their own focus groups, led by Elisabeth Raftery and Fr. Vrazel. We have other social and service opportunities spread throughout the year, as well!
Every youth group meeting includes sharing a meal together to grow in fellowship before the afternoon's activities begin. These meals are dependent on support and donations from volunteers like you!
If you would like to serve the youth program by providing a meal for our youth group, please Elisabeth Raftery at elisabethmnichols@gmail.com.

During the Liturgy of the Word portion of the 9:30am Mass, any children in grades PreK3 through First Grade are invited to attend a special Liturgy of the Word just for them, with stories and songs and kid-friendly explanations of that Sunday's readings. They are called to the front of the altar and our CLOW leaders walk them through the Sacristy to the Chapel, where they meet, and then they return to the main church just in time to bring up the Gifts at the Offeratory and return to their seats. The CLOW leaders serve on rotation and usually teach CLOW one Sunday a month, and are assisted as needed by youth volunteers or other parents. A book with instructions is provided, so you need only to be able to follow along and be an encouraging light for our little ones!

Our VBS program provides spiritual and social opportunities for the parish children for one week during summer vacation. Students entering grades PreK4 through 5th Grade are invited to attend and enjoy crafts, outdoor activities, songs, snacks, and more! Students entering grades 6th through 12th, as well as parish adult volunteers, are invited to serve as instructors for art, religion, music, and other activities, as well as donate snack items and craft supplies when possible. There's a way for everyone to get involved! Be on the lookout for registration information and volunteer signups in the Spring for VBS Summer 2024!
