Parish and Community Outreach

Angel Tree

Each year at Christmastime, St. Mary's puts up an Angel Tree in the church and encourages parishioners to take an angel (or several!) and purchase Christmas presents for the child or senior citizen listed. All gifts go directly to families within our parish bounds who have been identified as in need of assistance. Keep an eye out for our Angel tree this November!

Bereavement Committee

In the event of the loss of a love one, St. Mary Parish offers the use of the Sister of Mercy Building for receptions based on availability.  There is a $200 suggested donation for the use of the building.  Any food items needed are the responsibility of the family and/or a hired caterer.  If assistance is needed with food or servers for a reception, the Bereavement Committee is available to assist. To check on the availability of the facility, please contact Laurel Wallace at 251-380-8772. For assistance from the Bereavement Committee, contact Millie Dixon at 251-432-8678.

St. Vincent De Paul Society

In the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam (1813-1853) and patron, St. Vincent de Paul (1581-1660), the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a Catholic lay organization inspired by Gospel values. The Society leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are
needy and suffering.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul offers an opportunity for stewardship. We invite you to join the Society in spiritual growth, fellowship and works of charity:

  • Quietly and discreetly aiding needy families and individuals;
  • Personal visits to homes;
  • Seeking and serving the distressed;
  • Advocating for social justice; and
  • Growing spiritually through the gift of self to others

Our conference at St. Mary has been in existence since the 1930’s. We meet each second and fourth Monday of the month at 5:00 pm in the Sisters of Mercy Building. If you would like to learn about Vincentian life at St. Mary Parish, please contact Mary Ann Craig at 251-591-7950 or ma-craig@comcast.net.
